ARC REVIEW - Jagged Line Paradise
Title: Jagged Line Paradise
Author: Brynn Ford
Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Standalone
POV: Dual
Release date: 15th April 2021
My rating: 💋💋💋💋
A single moment of human brutality marks the difference between heaven and hell. It's a rapid free fall from paradise and the drop is catastrophic.
Back then, we were just a couple of dirt poor teenagers who had nothing except for our friendship. I wanted it to be more and one night I made my move. Everything was perfect then, but perfection is fleeting. For one brief shining moment, everything was beautiful, but an inconceivable nightmare sent us straight to hell…to depths from which we could never return.
I left our hometown—a place she once called paradise—to flee the aftermath of that brutal event that broke us so completely. I left her behind to pick up the broken pieces of her soul that had shattered irreparably. And now, I'm going back to face the wreckage that I thought I'd put behind me—my father's gruesome legacy, the trauma of our past, and the girl who survived it all without me by her side.
She hates me now for leaving her behind and I don't blame her.
I don't blame her, but I want her.
I want her, even though I know I should stay away from her.
I could be dangerous.
I am my father's son, after all.
Content Warning: This book contains brief scenes of violence and is premised around a theme of trauma and healing. Some parts may be triggering to some readers—discretion is advised.

Plot Summary :
Avalon and Andres have known each other for ever. They have liked each other forever and now they can have it all. Until an unexpected monster years it all away. Avalon gets kidnapped and returns but not the same.
Things take a worse turn and Andres has to leave her in her worst time and he does that. But now he is back. And it's too late. She hates him with a passion he has never seen and he doesn't blame her. He never came back for her after leaving her at her worst. And now he wanted her help? There was no way she was giving in to him again after what he did. No matter how much he tries to persuade her.
Overall Opinion :
The one reason why I am so freaking crazy about this author is because of the way she plays with my goddamn emotions. One moment I was angry and sad whereas the other I was feeling loved.
I absolutely hated Andres in the first half of this book. His girl got her whole life destroyed and he just thought of himself and ran away. Then when he came back, he blamed it all on her and acted like an absolute ass without even realising for once how much she needed him. That was the one thing I has a tough time accepting. He was a but emotionless at times and so very selfish.
But things improved at a later time and I liked that. He had a nice character development and that was something which made me rate this book higher because God knows he needed it. The ending of this book was the best part for me. The book had its ups and downs but I loved the storyline and would definitely recommend it to all the contemporary second chance lovers out there. It has a trigger warning of containing a described scene of both physical and sexual abuse so please keep that in mind before picking up this book!
