Title: Enemy Dearest
Author: Winter Renshaw
Genre:  Contemporary Romance
Type: Standalone
POV: Dual
Release date: 14th Jan 2021
My rating: 💋💋💋

I loved him. I lost him. And now he’s back.

August Monreaux was a stormy sea of a man, the dark between the stars, an electric chill cutting through a crowded room—all wrapped into one wicked, beautiful package.

He was also off-limits.

My entire life, I was kept a safe distance from the notoriously virulent Monreauxs, banned from so much as breathing the same air. And like the good daughter I was, I obeyed those rules.

Until the one time I didn’t …

Only while I sampled him, he devoured me like the forbidden fruit that I was. And in the blink of an eye, my worst enemy became my first love. His poison became my antidote. His touch, my addiction.

After we severed our ill-fated ties, I thought I’d never see him again.

Until he crashed back into my life at the worst possible moment—and asked me to marry him.

But it wasn’t that simple.

It never is.

Turns out marrying a wealthy powerhouse of a man comes with a price.

But walking away, could cost me everything.

Web-Photo-Editor Sheridan is nothing more than a pretty little pawn. A means to an end. A heart I intend to shatter into a million jagged pieces.”

Star Rating : 3.5 / 5 Stars

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : None

Hero : August Monreaux . He was one of the Monreaux sons and never really liked Sher’s family. He was commanding and hot and very very persistent!

Heroine : Sheridan Rose. She was one of the Rose’s and knew that she had to stay away from the monreaux for her own good. That is until she got caught in August’s trap and never wanted to come out. She was sweet but sassy!

Pace of the story : Slow

Angst Rating : 5/10

Heat Rating : 5/10

Triggers Involved : None

Plot Summary :
Rose and Monreauxes have always been at war. Ever Since Rose’s father was suspected of killing August’s mom , there had never been any peace. That is until one day August found Sheridan at his property. She had trespassed and now she had to pay the price. He won’t stop until he has broken her and finally gets the revenge of his mother’s death.

Sheridan knew better than to go to a Monreaux’s house , but she just wanted a midnight swim. WHat she didn’t expect was the youngest son to be at home. August Monreaux was as hot as he was cold. He was rude and demanding and knew the effect he had on her. And he was fully going to use that to trap her and make her his, And then finally break her.

Overall Opinion :
The timeline of this book just confused the hell out of me. If you read the blurb , you will think that it is a second chance romance and the main characters separated in the past and are now back to reconcile but it is not like that at all. They never really separated and the blurb is based on a separation of a few months which occurs at about 80% of the book.

The Book was Ok, I won’t say it was good because that timeline mess up totally ruined it for me to be honest. However the story was nice and it was a one time read for me! It was a light bully romance with no triggers absolutely. It had a decent storyline and I would recommend it to all the light bully romance lovers out there!

Final Verdict :
The timeline of the story and the blurb was totally wrong and it ruined the story for me.
This book was a decent one time read for me.
It was a light bully romance and more of a contemporary romance type.
