Machiavellian is the first book of the Gangsters of New York Series written by Bella Di Corte. Told in dual perspectives , this book was one hell of a debut book by this author.

The blurb of this book had me intrigued from the moment I read about it and I had been waiting for it for a long time. And every page was worth the wait. Bella Di Corte has done an amazing job with her debut novel. I seem to have a weakness for the arranged marriage trope and Bella seemed to hit right on that!!

Here we meet the heroine of the book , Mariposa who is having a very tough life. She is nearly homeless and has almost given up hope of getting a decent life by now. That's when life introduces her to Capo. Capo is practically a ghost. Very few people know him. Even though there was a large age gap between these two, they both decided to get married for the mutual benefits of each other. I was a bit shocked at how fast Mariposa agreed, but then all she wanted a bit stability in her life.

Both Capo and Mariposa were perfect for each other in every way. Mariposa had already grown a lot due to the harsh life she had led , and she was capable of handling Capo. Both were strong and Fierce in what they wanted and this book was very enjoyable for me. This take of the wolf and his butterfly intrigued me to no end!!

I just can't wait for the next wait book in this series to come out!! This book is recommended to all the mafia arranged marriage romance lovers , who would love a mafia king and his spitfire wife !!
