SLICK SENATOR is a Cocky hero club romance novel by MIKA LANE.

This was a slow-burn contemporary romance for me. Our main lead Cricket curtain ( funny name , I know!! ) Was going through some difficulties at her job. One day she somehow blurts that she new the newly appointed senator in her college. This leads to her editor pressurizing her to get an interview with him and to know him more. However, Cricket may have exaggerated a bit , and she was the one who had a crush on Talbot , and Talbot had no idea of her existence.

However there were less problems in the starting as the pair eventually click with each other and their romance starts off pretty fast. There were not many secrets between them as both of them were pretty upfront with each other. That was one thing I really loved.

That being said, there were some parts of the book that I found cringy and specially that smug looking guy on the cover is a bit repelling to me.
However , this book was a slow contemporary read for me , recommended to all the contemporary romance lovers with a second-chance theme!
