AGONY is the first book of the Entangled hearts duet by Kaylee Ryan. Told in dual perspectives , this book certainly lives up to its title's meaning!!

This was the first book of Kaylee Ryan that I have read and it was absolutely amazing!! Agony was a book full of so much pain and longing, that it nearly tore my heart out. Here in this book we meet two childhood best friends- Cooper and Reese. Reese has pretty much been in love with Cooper throughout her life . Cooper also feels something for her , but always denies it because he doesn't want to loose his friendship.

This book spans over a lot of years and tells us the full first half of Cooper and Reese's journey. They both come close many times but either life gets in the way or Cooper back out because of his issues. I have never seen a hero more stubborn than Cooper . I mean I lost count of the number of times of how many people told him that he loves Reese and he brushed them off. Finally after a lot of years they both get a chance again but Cooper again and again refuses to let Reese get near his heart. My heart just broke for her.

There were many instances when I literally hated Cooper. The way he rejected her again and again was so ruthless and painful. He moved on with other girls but Reese was never able to do that. When she finally found someone whom she loves, he gets in between that too. The titles of this book sums up the story so well!!! This book was a cliffhanger and was certainly very enjoyable for me.

There was just one thing that I didn't like about the book and it was the part where Cooper suddenly decides that he wants Reese and interrupts her wedding!! That was a bit of a leap for me.

The best thing that I liked about this book was its unpredictability . It leaves you hanging for more and I just can't wait for the second part of Cooper and Reese's story!! This book is recommended to all the contemporary romance lovers out there who like themes such as second-chance, childhood-friends-to-lovers and Redemption!!
